Anagote Timbers was established in 1983 when the Henderson family returned to Sydney after a spell in the bush. The business was named by the children for a pet goat called Anna.
Rodney had taken an interest in timber in the bush. Having a shed in the backyard and time on his hands (he was a tech teacher) he with Marie set up a part time specialty timber business in the back yard.
The business grew and moved to the present factory in Marrickville. Customers include boat builders, furniture makers, joineries, musical instrument makers, shopfitters, restorers of all sorts and people who use timber for purposes we have not yet been asked about.
